Estimator

We are a Tasmanian, family-owned company recognised both nationally and internationally as innovators in plastic. We have over 35 years’ experience servicing the aquaculture, industrial and agriculture sectors and have recently begun a significant capital expansion into recycling and advanced manufacturing.

We are seeking a high-energy and customer-focused Estimator who is motivated to play a key role in a rapidly growing business.

The role is ideally suited to someone who has experience in the scoping, estimating and procurement aspects of piping or plumbing solutions, gained over 2+ years in a similar role. Equally considered will be suitably experienced operations/construction leaders, who are looking to move into the estimating and administration aspects of project/job delivery. Experience in the field of HDPE fabrication/piping solutions will be highly regarded.

Candidates who have recently completed or are in the latter stages of tertiary/TAFE education in civil engineering, construction, quantity surveying or a similar discipline are encouraged to apply. Junior Estimator positions will also be considered for the right applicant.

The role will include:

·         Working closely with our operations team in the scoping of works, including participation in design options related to customer needs.

·         Ensuring knowledge of commercial risk is considered in customer agreements.

·         Working closely with supply chain/purchasing team members and suppliers in procurement.

·         Liaising with our Production Coordinator, customers and suppliers to align the timing of works.

·         Handing over job packages to the operations team complete with detailed and accurate take-offs, estimates and plans.

·         Monitor progress throughout the works, managing variations, changes to scope and commercial client relations.

·         Perform job costing for the purpose of monthly claim & invoice generation.

You must have a current unrestricted drivers licence and your own transport, and you will need to pass a pre-employment medical including AOD screening and a Police Check.
